SES DESIGN FOR DEATH

Reminiscent of ancient monoliths that honored the dead, the monuments aim to detach themselves from any distinctive architectural style, even from architecture itself, and instead aim to be seen as mystical objects meant to evoke a sense of wonder.

SES TAICHUNG CITY CULTURAL CENTER

Given its location and placement, the figure of the building takes a geometrical stand in relation to the surroundings and creates a microcosm of the natural environment within public space, a reference to the natural landscape of Taiwan, an island known for its various altitudes and diverse microclimates.

PAR & SES KEELUNG PORT TERMINAL

The new harbor project is only one piece in a larger green network that links public open space with waterfront amenities. The design of the Keelung Harbor Terminal interposes this by providing continuous open space at the water’s edge. Terminal Halls emerge like prisms through the building’s green roof generating a condition that is both building and landscape.

SES & ST PIRAEUS MUSEUM OF UNDERWATER ANTIQUITIES

The re-branding of a 1950 building as a receptacle for a Museum of Underwater Antiquities addressing Greek Antiquities creates a unique chance. We felt it was more logical to emphasize the existing industrial building then to create a completely new structure. We did this by extraction, to reveal the inner working of the original silos and by addition through placing the program atop the building.

A group of buildings, which could only be understood as otherworldly. It appeared there was a castle floating in the sky. Barely visible at first, then clearly appearing, triumphant , mysterious, awe-inspiring!
